When running late please call the salon to let me know when to expect you.
**Please do not send an instant or direct message through social media platforms when running late. Chances are I will not receive the notification in time.
Keep in mind, if you are running behind I may not be able to perform the service/s requested without the risk of running into my next guest’s appointment time.
***Late arrivals may incur a late fee, the late fee will be included in your service total at checkout.
In the event your appointment has to be rescheduled due to a late arrival this results in a missed appointment. A missed appointment service fee will be charged to the card placed on file.
All guests are expected to pay 100% of the expected service total for missed appointments.

When scheduling one or more services please keep in mind you are requesting time slots to be held for you.
Should you consider eliminating a service or parts of a service that have been held for you due to a time restraint or simply a change of heart you will still be responsible for paying for the service/time reserved.

Call the salon if ever you miss an appointment (within 24 hours of the missed appointment) to avoid being considered a no show.
All guests are expected to pay 100% of the expected service(s) total for missed appointments.
In the event, the appointment is missed and no contact is made your appointment will be considered a “No Show Appointment”. (See more on this under the section titled “No Show Appointments.)
***Please keep in mind all missed appointments and or sudden cancellations within hours of the expected appointment time present a missed opportunity for your stylist and other guests desiring a service.

After two consecutive cancellations deposits to secure future appointments will be required.
A deposit may be required to secure a second appointment in the event a first time appointment is cancelled.

The cancellation window for standard services is 72 hours prior to your scheduled appointment day.

If you’re experiencing symptoms related to a cold, influenza or Covid-19 you’ll have to reschedule your session.
To avoid a late cancel/reschedule fee when sick you’ll want to make changes to your appointment 24 hours prior to the day of your scheduled appointment.

Appointment Change Policies.
Cancelling or Rescheduling Standard Appointments
Should something come up that prevents you from keeping a standard appointment you have 72 hours leading up to your scheduled appointment to make changes without incurring a late cancellation fee.
The late cancel fee for standard appointments is 50% of the expected service total.
A cancellation is considered late when the standard appointment is cancelled in less than 72 hours of the appointment start time.
How to Pay the Late Cancel Fee:
The fee will be charged to the card on file or you call the salon to make different payment arrangement.
In the event cancellation fees are not paid within 24 hours of the missed appointment future booking will be disabled until the fee is paid in full.
FAQ: What is a standard appointment?
A: A standard appointment is any appointment scheduled for 2 hours or less.
Important Notice:
Changes, such as reschedules and cancellations, made to sessions held 5 or more days will be subject to a 50% Holding Fee when cancelled/rescheduled.
In addition, a non-refundable deposit may be required to secure the next requested session.
Cancelling or Rescheduling Color & Extensive Appointments
Appointments scheduled for 2+ hours, with or without a deposit are subject to a 50% cancellation fee when cancelled/rescheduled less than 5 days from the original appointment date.
To avoid a late cancel fee it is best to make changes 6 or more days ahead of your scheduled appointment.
A cancellation fee totaling 50% of the expected service total applied to the card on file.

Call the salon to cancel extensive appointments.

A: Any scheduled session requiring 2+ hours of scheduled time is considered an extensive service.

Important Details to Keep in Mind Regarding Cancellations and Reschedules:
Prior to cancelling an appointment Salon Admin may be able to adjust your appointment time to better suit your schedule for the day. Please reach out ahead of time via phone to inquire.
Cancellations, reschedules and/or late arrivals cannot be made through email or instant messenger. Due to the volume of correspondence received daily your email/message may be missed.
Exceptions:
Cancellation/reschedule requests made Friday - Monday for an upcoming Tuesday appointment will incur a late cancel fee. Such cancellations create a missed opportunity for Markiana and other guests hoping to get in due to online scheduling being down while the salon is closed.
Saturdays Appointments have a 5 day cancellation window. Due to the demand associated with Saturday sessions, appointments cancelled outside of the of the 5 day cancellation period (5 days or less) are subject to a 100% late cancel fee.
Illness & Emergencies.
What to do:
If you are sick, presenting signs of a cold and/or showing any signs of a fever… chills, cold sweats etc… you’ll have to reschedule your appointment.
Rescheduling your session helps to maintain a healthy salon environment for everyone.
In an effort to maintain equal scheduling opportunities for other guests in need of an appointment cancellations/reschedules due to an illness must be made 24 hrs. prior to a scheduled session to avoid a late cancel fee.
The amount of the fee is 50% of the expected service total.
Details to Note:
Any appointment change made due to illness the day of an appointment or less than 24 hours from the scheduled appointment time will incur a late cancel fee. No exceptions.
In the event you are showing signs of an illness at the start of your session or during your session you will be asked to reschedule.
Being asked to reschedule during a session is classified as a “Missed Appointment”. Full payment for the missed session will be required.
When cancelling or rescheduling an appointment due to an illness a non-refundable deposit may be required to secure a second session at the time of scheduling.

Q: How should I inform the salon of my illness?
A: If you aren’t feeling well days leading up to your appointment please reach out via phone to let me know. If you wake up feeling sick the day of your scheduled appointment it is best to call the salon to cancel/reschedule your appointment.
Warning! If you decide to reach out via email your email may not be received in time due to the high volume of emails received during the day/week and a late cancel fee may be applied.
Rescheduling Due to an Illness:
In an effort to maintain a healthy salon environment appointments rescheduled or cancelled will be rescheduled two weeks from the day of the missed appointment.
Be advised: Any deposit placed on a cancelled appointment due to an illness cannot carry over to a future appointment.
Emergencies:
Call the salon when an emergency arises as soon as you are able.
To those living with a terminal illness and/or are an expectant mother exceptions to salon policies can be made when an emergency arises prior to your scheduled appointment.

Q: What will happen if I don’t call the salon?
A: Should we not receive a call within 48 hours of the missed appointment a missed appointment fee will be charged to the card on file.
If the missed appointment fee is not paid within 48 hours of the missed appointment future booking will be disabled until the fee is paid in full.

Inclement (Emergent) Weather & Snow Days
Inclement weather can be a nuisance and a hazard.
If you’d like to make an appt change due to inclement here’s what you’ll need to do to avoid a late cancel fee:
Call the salon 24+ hours prior to your scheduled appointment time to make appointment changes and to with no fee attached.
If a call is received after the 24 hour window 50% of your expected service total will be charged to the card on file.
*Avoid emailing appt change notices as they may not be received in time.
How the salon handles Inclement Weather closing/delays:
Salon Admin will call and email Closing/Delay Notifications days in advance. The notice will inform you of the salon’s decision to either open late or close the salon..
Reschedules will be handled accordingly at that time.
How to Make Changes to An Existing Appt.

To make changes to an existing standard appointment simply revisit the confirmation email you received from Gloss Genius when your appointment request was approved.
Standard appointments can only be cancelled/rescheduled through Gloss Genius 72+ hours prior to the scheduled appointment date.
Please note: In the event Gloss Genius does not allow you to make changes to an existing standard appointment you will get a pop-up response telling you to contact the salon— you’ve gotten this response because you’ve missed your window to cancel and a late fee will be applied to the missed appointment.
Exception: To make a change to an Extensive Service appointment follow the steps listed b under the section titled “Cancelling Color/Extensive Appointments”
Online Appointment Cancellation/Reschedule Time Frames:
Appointment reschedules can only be made when online scheduling is live through out the week. Online scheduling is down Friday evenings at 6:00 pm EST, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays.
Appointment cancellations can still be made when online scheduling is disabled.
How to cancel or rescheduled an appt. that is scheduled less than 72 hrs away:
Call the salon during salon operating hours.
*Avoid emailing appt change inquires. Doing so may result in your emailed inquiry not being seen in time.
Exceptions: Cancellations made for extensive appointments and Saturday appointments must be made over the phone preferably during salon operating hours.
